While sailing to Zanjic we will pass between old fortresses “Mamula” and “Arza”. Mamula fortress was built in 1853 by Austro-Hungarian general Lazar Mamula as a part of the Austro-Hungarian Army’s contingency plans of preventing enemy entrance into Boka Bay. The same role had Arza fortress. Today, both of them are greeting ships and sailors entering the bay.

Žanjice I Mirista is the gem of this part of the South Adriatic coastline. Open sea, blue and clear water is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, diving or even tracking to the castle of Arza or Island and Monstery Vavadenije Presvete Bogorodice built in 12 century.
